ValleyOfFlowers.com exists because this trip is easy to get wrong. The season is short, the road is long, the weather has opinions, and a surprising amount of what is written about it is vague or out of date. This is an independent guide to the valley, Hemkund Sahib and the road that leads to them — written to be useful before you go and while you are there.
We are not the official website of the national park, the forest department or the gurudwara trust.
What we cover
- The national park itself: the trail, the rules, the flowers and their seasons.
- Hemkund Sahib, Ghangaria, Govindghat and the trek between them.
- The road from Haridwar and Rishikesh through Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Joshimath, with side trips to Auli, Badrinath and Mana.
- Which trek packages and tours are worth booking, described honestly.
- Where to stay at each stage.
How we research
Seasonal dates, gate hours, journey times and rules are checked against official announcements, operators and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide. Where a figure moves around — fees, opening dates, helicopter fares — we give a range or say “check current rates”, rather than pretend to a precision that does not exist.
Mountain travel in the monsoon is unpredictable. We describe conditions as accurately as we can and always recommend checking locally before you set out.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a trek, a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placement and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Dates shift, prices move and rules are rewritten. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us via the contact page.
